The West Bengal Government has chalked out an elaborate plan to increase power generation with a focus on ‘sustainable power’.
This is in addition to taking steps to increase production of conventional forms of energy.

The plan has been made keeping in mind the expected power requirement in 2025.Besides solar power, other sustainable forms of energy for generation of electricity like biomass, wind and tidal power are also being looked into.

Power generation has already considerably increased over the past six years and measures were being taken to increase it further.
